Welcome to the CESA 7 STEM FORCE.  This is a place for innovation, creativity, and problem solving in all things related to STEM education leadership (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).

 

National Girls Collaborative Project:

NGCP is in the process of increasing online presence. We encourage you to "Like" their new NGCP Facebook Page and follow on Twitter to receive ongoing girl-focused information, updates about national and Collaborative networks, and events. In March, they will launch a blog, featuring Collaborative activities and partnerships, and exemplary practices in collaboration and informal education.

National STEM Video Game Challenge
Inspired by the Educate to Innovate campaign, President Obama's initiative to promote a renewed focus on STEM education, the National STEM Video Game Challenge aims to motivate interest in STEM learning among America's youth by tapping into students' natural passions for playing and making video games. The 2011 Challenge features two competitions, a Youth Prize (grades 5-8) and a Developer Prize (open to emerging and experienced game developers). Deadline: March 12, 2012.

Learn to inspire elementary students by integrating engineering principles in your classroom. This course will familiarize you with the engineering design process and development of model eliciting activities, which will help you engage students with hands-on, problem-solving engineering activities. The JASON Project: science curriculum and resources that are available free for teachers to use. (http://jason.org) The Jason project has some amazing streaming sessions coming up this year and has a host of free, downloadable materials that teachers can use to help integrate the project info into their curriculum. Great STEM stuff!  View an archive of a JASON workshop for teachers that was taped in Nov. 2010.
